Questions, answered
The questions we hear most often before a proposal. Anything else — call (646) 801-2628 or send the form.
How many guests can a yacht event accommodate?
Vessels in the catalog range from private yachts for 6 to 12 guests up to the 210-foot Cornucopia Majesty with a published capacity of 1,200. Most corporate events and weddings fall between 75 and 500 guests. Tell us your approximate count and we will propose vessels that fit.
Does Yacht Events own the yachts?
No. Yacht Events is an event producer and charter coordinator. Under long-standing arrangements with vessel operators across New York and New Jersey, we select the right yacht for your event and then manage the menu, production and logistics around it.
Where do the yachts depart from?
Boarding locations include Pier 81, Pier 16, Chelsea Piers, Skyports Marina and North Cove in Manhattan; Lincoln Harbor, Liberty Landing, the Hyatt Regency Jersey City and Perth Amboy in New Jersey; and Greenwich Harbor in Connecticut. The departure point depends on the vessel and is confirmed in your proposal.
How far in advance should we book?
Peak dates — spring and fall weekends and the November–December holiday season — are typically confirmed months ahead. Smaller private-yacht dinners can often be arranged on shorter notice. The earlier you share a date, the more vessel options we can hold.
What is included in a proposal?
A written proposal sets out one or more vessel options with their capacities, a menu and bar plan, production elements such as sound, lighting and staging, boarding details and a transparent budget for the whole event.
Can menus be customized? Do you offer kosher or Indian menus?
Yes. Menus are written for each event by the culinary team, with published starting points for corporate dinners, weddings, brunch, cocktail stations, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, Sweet 16s and South Asian celebrations. Kosher and South Asian menus have been produced for more than twenty years.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Most event yachts are fully enclosed and climate controlled, so dinner and dancing proceed in comfort regardless of the forecast. Sailing is subject to the captain's judgment on safety; your proposal explains the policy for the specific vessel.
Is there a bar on board?
Nearly every vessel carries at least one full-service bar; the larger event yachts have a bar on each deck. Bar packages are included in the proposal.
Can you handle audio-visual, staging and lighting?
Yes. Yacht Events began in 2003 as a lighting company on private yachts and grew into sound, video and staging. Presentations, award moments and live entertainment are produced by our own team.
Are the yachts wheelchair accessible?
Accessibility varies by vessel. Spirit of New York, for example, is published as handicap-accessible. Let us know your requirements and we will propose suitable vessels.
Do you only work in New York City?
The company produces events across New York City, New Jersey and Connecticut, with other ports including Yonkers, New Rochelle, Port Washington, Staten Island, Brooklyn, Hoboken and Stamford available on request.
How do I start?
