Steven Tanzman
Founder, Yacht Events LLC
Steven Tanzman has spent his career on the client's side of the table. Before founding Yacht Events in 2003 he served as Director of Catering and Director of Sales and Marketing at some of the finest facilities in the Northeast, including the Pleasantdale Chateau, the Helmsley Palace (now the New York Palace), Tappan Hill, World Yacht, the 24 Fifth Avenue Ballroom, The Tides Estate, Fountainhead of New Rochelle and Lyndhurst Castle.

Why the company exists
While still a sales manager in early 2003, Steven created Yacht Events LLC to specialize in event planning for social and corporate clients on the water. What sets the company apart is simple: the staff are all former caterers who represent the client's best interests, and they have the independence to choose the right vessel — from the fleet partners they work with every week to a privately owned yacht when that is the better fit.
The result is one accountable team from the first strategy conversation through measurable objectives, logistics and the event itself — on budget and on time, with flawless execution.
Recognition
Steven has been published in many hospitality trade publications, was quoted by Catering Trends Magazine as one of the leading consultants in the hospitality industry, and has been recognized by BizBash and CNBC among the top event producers in New York City.
Who the company works for
Clients are principally Fortune 500 companies and institutions that need creatively designed, flawlessly executed events — alongside families planning weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, South Asian celebrations and milestone parties. Many of the letters below come from clients who have returned year after year.
Whether it's a private yacht that comes to you or coordinating vendors and rentals to an island accessible only by ferry — Yacht Events always rises to the challenge.
Letters from clients
The event planning was flawless. We received many compliments from our clients and guests thanking us for such a memorable trip to Citi Field.
It was the best boat event they've had and they've all been raving about their experience.
Steve listened well and made sure he understood all that was important to us and then delivered beyond our greatest expectations.
Not only was your collaboration with IBM outstanding but your integration with each other was key to the event outcome.
I've had the pleasure of coordinating two cruise events with Steven, and he is absolutely the best. Our latest outing in July was one of the best events in our firm's history.
Steven is a true professional and makes the whole experience seamless for his clients. He took care of every detail, allowing me to enjoy the amazing event with my guests.
From pre-plan to seamless execution, you were on top of everything, consummately professional, and just plain fun to work with.

He gets the job done. And in doing so he is responsive, available and on target.

I recently had my wedding reception on the Destiny yacht. Steve Tanzman in particular is a rockstar coordinator. The menu is very open to customization and the waitstaff is great.
I told Steve what I wanted and he did everything to accommodate me and went beyond that. It's been five years now and the guests are still talking about my daughter's wedding.
The night was exactly what we wanted from start to finish and multiple people told us it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. Steven was even on board during the wedding making sure everything ran smoothly.
Steven was so personable, honest and helpful creating the plan for our perfect wedding ceremony and reception at a very reasonable cost. He made sure every detail was taken care of the night of the wedding by personally attending.
Steve sailed with us up and down the Hudson for four and a half hours attending to every detail. People still talk about the party like it was yesterday.
